Creative physics-based racing game
Screw Drivers is a free-to-play racing game from developer Creactstudios. In this physics-based racer, players are given the freedom to create vehicles from scratch. They are given a variety of parts to help them build the chassis, engine, and other essential components for a whole car.
Similar in concept to BeamNG.drive, Screw Drivers gives players complete freedom to build anything they want, with its more casual approach to racing mechanics and systems. They are complemented by a variety of different extreme race tracks and highly destructible environments for a fast, thrilling, and chaotic time.
Builder's journey
Screw Drivers is a part-racing and part-car builder experience that takes place in a vast desert-like landscape. It lets you build your own custom vehicle from the ground up, and it provides you will all the necessary building tools to do so. Take on a group of royals known as The Monarchs with their supercars and defeat them with your own hard-built ride.
You will start with a modest set of parts for your first car build, but as you slowly win more races, you get to unlock powerful components to increase your speed, acceleration, and handling. The intuitive built-in editor pretty much allows you to create anything that has wheels and an engine to get you going. The building blocks you get from defeated monarchs also feature special mechanical features.
The game also features multiplayer gameplay that lets you create a dedicated server to invite other players to race and test your creations on various tracks with unique challenges. The only thing to know before playing is that the game is still in Early Access. Hence, development is still ongoing and there are plenty of things to be added and fixed in future updates.
Potentially great
All in all, Screw Drivers has the potential to be a great game with its free-form yet intuitive building mechanics and fun and thrilling racing gameplay. There are not a lot of games like it in the space and it's free to play, so hopefully, development goes smoothly and the full game comes out soon. Give it a try and see for yourself.
